We Have Major FOMO After Watching This Video
Aerosmith threw one heck of a party last night at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles!
It was the second and final California Dream On concert – and in addition to playing classics like “Sweet Emotion” and “Dream On,” they brought out some special guests that Throwback fans go crazy for!
Aerosmith started with the opening notes of “Walk This Way,” but then lead singer Steven Tyler told everyone to hold up because they were missing something.
That something was Run DMC! Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels came out on stage and performed the hit 1986 song. Joe Perry even had the same guitar he played in the music video!
Not only that – but earlier in the evening, it was a who’s who of Throwback artists who took the stage to warm the crowd up!
Billy Idol sang “Livin’ on the Edge,” Heart did “Janie’s Got a Gun” plus their own hit “Barracuda,” the Black Crowes did Aerosmith’s 1976 song “Get the Lead Out,” and Guns N’ Roses did “Mama Kin,” “S.O.S. (Too Bad),” “Rats in the Cellar,” and “Sick as a Dog,” before playing their own songs “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Nighttrain.”
Wow, right?!?
Comedian Bill Burr told the crowd on night one that the two concerts were “the final two shows in Aerosmith’s history,” but Tyler disproved that by asking the crowd, “Doesn’t he know that you can’t get rid of Aerosmith?”
These two shows were a big deal, because Aerosmith hasn’t performed a full concert since their farewell tour was canceled in 2023, after Tyler suffered a severe vocal cord injury and fractured larynx. There was a camera crew filming during both shows – so maybe we will see a concert film at some point?
