Happy Birthday to Sir Paul McCartney

One of our favorite Beatles, Paul McCartney, is celebrating his 82nd birthday today!

That’s right, James Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942 in Liverpool, England.

He remains one of the most successful composers and performers of all time, first with the Beatles, then with Wings, and during his solo career.

Here’s a just few of his many accomplishments:

He’s written or co-written 32 songs that have topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart
He’s been inducted twice into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – first with the Beatles and then as a solo artist
He’s won an Oscar, an Emmy, and 18 Grammys
He was knighted in 1997 for his service to music
