BLACK HISTORY MONTH: February 11, 2023 – Whitney’s final days
She died 11 years ago today.
The tragic story of Whitney Houston almost feels like a fairytale; a woman, born from a performing family, with the voice of an angel and the persona to TAKE ON THE WORLD. Yet, her personal battles in relationships, with drugs and alcohol, lead to her early demise at only 48.
Her mother Cissy – a Gospel star in her own right – sat down with Oprah Winfrey (who else) to document some of what she had been watching and seeing with Whitney in her final days.
On a day like today, where Cissy undoubtedly mourns her daughter and granddaughter, we send her love and support. We’ll never let Whitney’s memory die around here.
