Seal is a… Seal in Soda Ad
If you were watching the Philadelphia Eagles’ big win over the Kansas City Chiefs last night, you may have noticed Seal’s appearance in a commercial for the Mountain Dew variant Baja Blue.
It certainly has fans buzzing!
The ad features his big 1994 hit song “Kiss From a Rose.” Seal’s face is on an actual seal, singing the song on an island rock in the middle of the very blue ocean. The lyrics are modified just a bit to go with the soda theme…
Baby, I compare it to a kiss from the lime on the bay
Ooh, the more I think of it, it’s strange I’m a seal, yeah
My flippers can’t hold Mountain Dew
It slips right on through what a shame
There is so much a Seal can tell you
So much he can say
Dew remains my power, my pleasure, my flame
Then the ad goes back to the boat and the real Seal is seated in the back and he remarks, “Good looking Seal.”
The guy driving the boat yells, “None of this makes sense!”
We kind of agree, but it did grab our attention!
