Wow! Original Ariel’s Daughter Becomes Ariel, Too!
We know you remember Ariel from Disney’s 1989 film “The Little Mermaid.” The animated movie stole our hearts with the sweet story of Ariel, the little mermaid with a golden voice who was fascinated with the human world, fell in love with a prince, and risked it all for love!
The actress who voiced the part of Ariel is Jodi Benson, and she just shared a touching post on Instagram after her daughter Delaney played the role of Ariel in a Miami production.

Benson wrote that her daughter was “born to play Ariel. You made her your very own. You were so brilliant. You infused your joy, your humor, your passion, and your love into every moment of her story. It’s hard for me to find the words to express how I felt as I watched you on stage. I was and am so incredibly proud of you.”
Benson also shared several photos of family and friends backstage with her daughter, who certainly looked the part! She’s shown in Ariel’s mermaid costume and her wedding dress.
Benson added that she’s “honored to pass my treasured dinglehopper to you.”
