Norris was a martial artist who starred in films like “An Eye For An Eye,” “Missing In Action,” “Code of Silence,” “The Delta Force,” “Firewalker,” and many others. From 1993 to 2001, he portrayed Texas Ranger Cordell Walker in the CBS drama “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
Norris didn’t get into karate until he was stationed in Korea while serving in the Air Force. When he returned to the U.S., he worked as a karate teacher. He eventually met Bruce Lee at a martial arts competition and the two became friends. Lee cast Norris in his 1972 movie “Way of the Dragon,” and that kicked off Norris’ Hollywood career.
He is survived by his wife and children.
