Billy Joel’s Magical Run at MSG
The Piano Man will perform his 150th and final residency show this week
Billy Joel has performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City every month or so for the past ten years – minus the 2020 Covid year.
That’s 149 shows so far. On Thursday, he’ll make it 150 and it will be the final show of his MSG residency.
Joel told USA Today in April that he’s going to miss the ‘magic’ of performing at Madison Square Garden. “I love it. The band loves it. The crowd is a New York-crazy crowd. The minute you walk onstage you’re aware they’re rooting for you. The only way you could mess up that gig is to try to screw it up,” he said.
If you’re finding yourself with some extra cash, you may still be able to score tickets to the sold-out show. We found $575 tickets on StubHub, $523 on SeatGeek and $477 on Vivid Seats. Resale tickets are also available on Ticketmaster.
We should note, that while this is the farewell to Joel’s residency at MSG, it’s not a goodbye to performing. He has seven more shows scheduled this year from July through November. You can check those tour dates here.
