LOVE TRAX: This Song Got A Second Chance

Today’s THROWBACK LOVE TRAX got a second chance – and we’re so glad it did!

“Always” by Atlantic Starr hit No. 1 on the Billboard chart in 1987.

Band members Jonathan, David, and Wayne Lewis first brought up the song in 1982 and hoped to record it for their album Brilliance. But their record producer didn’t think it was right for the album, and told them to just hang onto it.

After that album, the group went through some changes and the only members left were the three Lewis brothers. They added a female singer, Barbara Weathers, and signed with Warner Bros records.

They recorded “Always” with Weathers this time, and it was the lead single from their 1987 album All In The Name Of Love.
