Sure, we knew The Pointer Sisters’ music from the movies like “Car Wash” and “Beverly Hills Cop.”

We loved their covers of Bruce Springsteen’s “Fire” their sultry moves on “He’s So Shy.”

And when we got up and danced, we were even MORE EXCITED than Jessie Spano on “I’m So Excited” and “Jump.”

Though we probably all heard The Pointer Sisters perform much earlier in our lives than that.

Did you know: The Pointer Sisters are actually the iconic voices of Sesame Street’s iconic “pinball” number song?  It’s true!

“ONE TWO THREE FOUUUUR, FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT NINE TEN…ELEVEN TWELVE!”  Go ahead and sing along all over again.

And tonight, let’s think Anita, Bonnie, June, Ruth, and their children (many of whom are keeping their legacy going) for teaching us how to count at such a young age!
